The registrations protect technologies supporting secure cash in and cash out transactions through Pay&Go self-service kiosks.
BTI Payments Philippines Inc., the company behind Pay&Go, has reached a significant intellectual property milestone with four utility model (UM) registrations under the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) of the Philippines, covering its self-service cash in and cash out technologies.
Registered to The Banktech Group Pty Ltd, the utility models cover the methods and systems that process physical cash transactions through self-service terminals. These include depositing cash into digital financial accounts and completing cash out transactions from participating banking applications.
According to Dan Ibarra, CEO of BTI Payments Philippines Inc., “the registrations reinforce the innovation behind Pay&Go and preserve the value of the technologies developed by our company,” he said.

Formal protection of these systems helps safeguard their technology from unauthorized commercial use. It also gives BTI Payments PH Inc. a stronger foundation for continued investment in research, product development, and service innovation.
Pay&Go connects customers who use physical cash with services offered through digital financial platforms. Its Cash In service allows users to fund participating accounts through a kiosk, while Cash Out enables eligible customers to withdraw funds from supported financial applications.
By protecting the technology behind these services, BTI Payments can maintain greater control over how its systems are used and developed as the Pay&Go network grows. The registrations also strengthens the company’s position when working with banks, digital wallets, retailers, and other partners.
The utility model certifications under the Intellectual Property of the Philippines reflects BTI Payments’ commitment to developing secure, reliable, and accessible financial technology. As the company expands Pay&Go across the country, it will continue investing in innovations that bridge the gap between physical cash and digital finance for Filipino communities.
