More Than a Partnership: Pay&Go and Mercury Drug Bring Financial Convenience Closer to Communities

Exterior view of a Mercury Drug store featuring the store's red and white signage, with a 'Pay&Go' kiosk displaying options for cash transactions in front.

Some of the most meaningful partnerships begin with a simple idea: be where your customers already are.

This idea has shaped the growing partnership between Pay&Go and Mercury Drug, where financial services are brought closer to customers through Pay&Go kiosks in Mercury Drug locations nationwide.

Through Pay&Go kiosks at Mercury Drug, customers can access essential financial services while visiting one of the country’s most familiar destinations for health care and everyday needs.

Now, the partnership is moving beyond the store as Pay&Go supports the first-ever Mercury Drug Suki Dash, bringing customers, employees, partners, and communities together through an event centered on wellness, movement, and connection.

Where Everyday Convenience Meets Community

For generations, Mercury Drug has been part of the everyday lives of Filipino families. Its longstanding presence across the country has made the name “Mercury Drug” almost synonymous with “drugstore,” making it the most trusted destination for health and everyday needs.

Through Pay&Go kiosks available in Mercury Drug stores, customers can access financial services in a place already woven into their routines – from cashing in and paying bills to accessing other essential services.

“Our partnership with Mercury Drug reflects something we believe strongly in at Pay&Go. Financial services become more meaningful when they are accessible in the places where people already live their daily lives,” said Dan Ibarra, CEO of BTI Payments Philippines.

“But we also want to be present beyond the transaction. Supporting Suki Dash allows us to celebrate and connect with the same communities we serve every day.”

Taking the Partnership Beyond the Store

The Mercury Drug Suki Dash adds a different dimension to the relationship.

Inside Mercury Drug stores, the partnership helps make everyday transactions more accessible. Outside the store, the run gives both brands an opportunity to meet customers in a different way – not across a counter or a kiosk screen, but through a shared experience centered on health and wellness.

“Our customers are at the heart of everything we do, and partnerships that contribute to their everyday experience and well-being are important to us,” said Steven Q. Azcona, President of Mercury Drug Corporation.

“Suki Dash gives us an opportunity to bring our customers, partners, and communities together, and we are pleased to have Pay&Go join us in this milestone.”

Solving practical, everyday needs while continuing to show up for the people behind every transaction is what makes a meaningful partnership for both Pay&Go and Mercury Drug.

From the kiosk to the starting line, Pay&Go and Mercury Drug are finding more ways to make everyday life a little more convenient and to stay connected to the communities they serve.

Why Do Payment Kiosks Matter in the Philippines?

The way Filipinos manage money continues to evolve. Digital wallets, mobile banking, QR payments, and other digital financial services have made it easier to transact without physical cash.

At the same time, cash remains an important part of everyday financial activity.

This creates a need for infrastructure that connects the physical and digital sides of the financial ecosystem.

Someone may have money in cash but need to put it into an e-wallet. Another person may have funds in a digital account but need physical cash. Others may simply prefer using cash to pay their bills.

Payment kiosks provide another channel for these different needs.

Financial inclusion is not only about making services digital. It is also about making those services accessible through channels that work for different people and different situations.

Pay&Go: Connecting Physical and Digital Financial Services

Pay&Go is part of a growing network of financial and payment infrastructure in the Philippines.

Since establishing operations in the Philippines in 2015, BTI Payments has built the Pay&Go network to make financial services more accessible through convenient self-service locations.

Today, the Pay&Go network has more than 4,000 service points and has served more than 18 million unique users since 2019

Pay&Go processes more than 5 million transactions per month for FY2026, with transaction volume growing by more than 50% year-on-year over the past three years.

The network is present across key retail locations, including malls, supermarkets, pharmacies, convenience stores, and other establishments.

Are Payment Kiosks Safe to Use?

Customers should always take the same precautions they would with any financial transaction.

When using a Pay&Go kiosk:

  • Check your transaction details carefully before confirming.
  • Make sure the account, mobile number, or reference number is correct.
  • Keep your transaction receipt or confirmation.
  • Never share your PIN, password, or one-time password with another person.
  • Use official Pay&Go customer support channels for transaction concerns.
  • Be cautious of individuals or online pages pretending to represent Pay&Go.

For transaction concerns, customers can visit payandgo.help for assistance.

The Role of Payment Kiosks in the Future of Financial Services

Digital financial services will continue to grow in the Philippines, but digital and physical channels do not have to compete with each other.

A strong financial ecosystem gives consumers choices.

Payment kiosks provide a physical connection to digital financial services, allowing customers to move between cash and digital transactions based on what they need.

Through its growing network of Pay&Go kiosks, Pay&Go aims to make financial services more accessible, convenient, and available to more Filipinos.

The future of financial access is not purely digital or purely physical. It is about creating more ways for people to access the services they need, where and when they need them.
